Correspondence, 1848-1871.

The correspondence is devoted to mining in California and Nevada, politics, the Vigilance Committee, and business affairs. Most of the letters are from Henry to his brother William in New York, but a few to William from another brother, Edward, are included.

Some time in the 1830s Edward Eno formed a hardware merchandising partnership in New York City. In 1844 he moved to Island Grove, Sangamon County,Illinois, where he bought a farm and attempted to raise sheep. He also speculated in corn, and bought land near the planned railroad depot for the Great Western Railroad.
